Vanilla & Chocolate Crackle
This recipe will bring back childhood memories! I loved Rice Bubble slice when I was growing up so I created a healthy alternative that tastes just as good. This recipe is free from refined sugar, gluten, dairy and nuts. I hope you love it as much as we do! x
I’m sure most of you remember the traditional Rice Bubble slice from when you were growing up…..? I definitely do, especially at birthday parties. We all loved it when we were kids. So I set out to create a healthy alternative that tasted just as good so the kids could enjoy it! The traditional slice was made up of sugar, butter, honey and rice bubbles so I have substituted these and opted for whole food ingredients that result in a slice that kids both big and small will love. The perfect wee snack.
This slice is another super simple recipe. The kids will love helping to prepare it, its a great lunch box snack and its also super tasty – we all enjoy it in our household. Read More
Most people are aware that sugar can destroy our health. Two much sugar can lead to many health concerns – cancers, diabetes, acne, mood swings, weight gain, depression, headaches, dental problems and many other conditions.
When trying to cut out sugar many people automatically think of sweets, chocolate and soft drinks. However, they do not realise that a lot of the (processed, packaged or refined) food that is marketed to us as “healthy,” “pure,” “natural” and “organic” actually contains a lot of hidden sugars. These foods which we perceive as healthy are actually ruining our health. Read More

As many of you will know from previous posts, I am now hooked on Essential Oils. I’m sure you have noticed the “new hype” of essential oils and now you are wondering what all the fuss is about and if they actually work.
These gorgeous oils have changed our lives for the better. I love always having a natural solution to reach for when we have any health concerns. I believe it is so important to be able to use natural alternatives on your loved ones and in particular the little ones. Not only have we replaced our medicine cabinet with these oils, I now make my own cleaning and beauty products and use these oils to enhance the kitchen. It really is simple! But for those not keen on DIY there are also many pre-made health, cleaning and beauty products that you can buy which are made from these precious oils. Read More

These Muesli Bars are a great option to have on hand when you feel the urge to snack. A healthy alternative to store bought muesli bars and great for us busy mums as they require no prep. Popular snack for adults and a great addition to kids lunchboxes.
As a busy mum, I love having something healthy on hand to reach for when I feel the urge to snack (which seems to be often especially since I’m breastfeeding….). And these muesli bars are a delicious option. Not only for me, they seemed to be popular with Stella and James as well! A great option for both adults and kiddies alike. Note to self, must make a bigger batch next time!
The dangerous thing about being at home all day long is the temptation of the pantry…. So I always make sure that I have something nutritious that I can grab for morning/afternoon tea AND an option that requires no preparation is key. Read More
This week is Coeliac Awareness Week so I wanted to share a post about my experience with Coeliac disease and to share a bit more information around this disease in terms of what it is, tips and my favourite gluten free foods and cafes. I hope you find it helpful.
I was diagnosed with Coeliac disease in my mid 20s and I did think my life was over – that was after the doctor had to explain to me exactly what Coeliac disease was and then what gluten was. Once I got my head around this, I just thought, no more of my favourite foods. But on the plus side, would changing my diet really make me feel better….? Read More
