Nut Free Chocolate Bliss Balls
This is a great recipe for kids lunch boxes. A healthy treat and great snack for the whole family. Perfect for those Mama's sending their kiddies to kindy/school where there are nut-free policies. This recipe is free from refined sugar, gluten, dairy and nuts. I hope you love it as much as we do! x
Now that the kiddies are back to school or kindy, its time for us Mums to get back to making lunchboxes. Like many kindy’s, Freddie’s centre has a nut free policy. Going nut free can be hard for parents. For me, most of the snacks/healthy treats that I usually make for the kids contain nuts. For those in a gluten free household, I’m sure this is the case for you too. I also haven’t yet come across nut-free bliss balls that I can purchase, but lets be honest, they’re much better home-made! So back into the kitchen I went to make a nut-free bliss ball recipe. This recipe is great for those nut-free schools/kindys and also for those families where there are nut allergies.

Vanilla & Chocolate Crackle
This recipe will bring back childhood memories! I loved Rice Bubble slice when I was growing up so I created a healthy alternative that tastes just as good. This recipe is free from refined sugar, gluten, dairy and nuts. I hope you love it as much as we do! x
I’m sure most of you remember the traditional Rice Bubble slice from when you were growing up…..? I definitely do, especially at birthday parties. We all loved it when we were kids. So I set out to create a healthy alternative that tasted just as good so the kids could enjoy it! The traditional slice was made up of sugar, butter, honey and rice bubbles so I have substituted these and opted for whole food ingredients that result in a slice that kids both big and small will love. The perfect wee snack.
This slice is another super simple recipe. The kids will love helping to prepare it, its a great lunch box snack and its also super tasty – we all enjoy it in our household. Read More
Easy Gluten Free Kids Pizza Base
An easy dinner option that the kids will love.
Who doesn’t like pizza…..? I’m sure most of you reading this love pizza’s. And if you don’t, your kiddies will.
This is a super simple allergy friendly pizza base. It only takes around 5-10mins for the base and is gluten free, dairy free, egg free, vegan and soy free. And another 10mins once the toppings have been added. So quick and easy when you are short on time or if your kiddies are hanging around you wanting dinner ASAP. Its quicker (and healthier) than ordering pizza for delivery!
A well balanced, fresh and light Mexican inspired dish that the whole family will enjoy – combining crunchy fish, fresh salad/salsa and coconut yoghurt dressing.
A nice easy meal which we enjoy at home is Fish Taco’s. Taco’s are definitely one of my favourite Mexican dishes as well as a family favourite in our household so I’m excited to share this recipe with you and I’m hoping you will also enjoy these as much as we do.
There are three parts to this dish – a crunchy fish, fresh salad/salsa and coconut yoghurt dressing combo – they all complement each other so well. Yet it is also fairly versatile and I have included a few notes below re some changes you can make to the dish ingredients. Read More
Lemon & Coconut Slice
A quick and easy healthy sweet slice combining two of my favrouite ingredients - Lemon & Coconut.
I love anything flavoured with lemon and I’ve mentioned before how much I love coconut – this recipe combines both. Definitely a great baking combo! We always have lemons on hand at home and I use them throughout the day, starting the day with a glass of water with lemon juice, with Avocado for breakfast, over salads and in my herbal teas. In terms of Coconut, I also use this throughout the day, when I have Bircher in the morning and over salads for lunch/dinner. I also obviously love creating recipes which include both ingredients. I first fell in love with polenta fries at one of myfavourite restaurants in Auckland and decided that I wanted to be able to whipthese up at home.
What I really like about Polenta fries, is that they arefirstly super easy and also very versatile and can be eaten all year round – Insummer, at a BBQ and in winter with a roast. They can also be eaten as a snack – serve with a Mexican salsa or someguacamole. They can also be prepared theday before and cooked when you are ready to serve. Additionally, you can also freeze the batterand use at a later date.
